Melbourne police officer caught drink driving

MELBOURNE: A Victoria Police inspector was allegedly detected drink driving in Strathmore yesterday morning.

The off- duty male officer, from a specialist unit, returned a positive reading at a breath testing station on Pascoe Vale Road about 8am.

A subsequent evidentiary breath test returned a reading of 0.081 percent.

He was issued with a penalty notice for drink driving with a fine of $476 and his licence has been cancelled for six months.

Professional Standards Command has been notified as per standard procedure.
