ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host Asian Futsal Championship from December 12-16, at Liaquat Jemnasium, Islamabad here. Chairman, Pakistan Futsal Federation, Malik Mehrban Ali said that 12 countries will take part in the championship and invitation letter have already been sent to the participant teams, namely United Àrab Emirate (UAE), Turkey Nepal, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and India.
Seven teams have already confirmed their participation in the championship but Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and India did not confirm their participation so far.
He said that Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff, General Qamer Javed Wajwa will be invited as chief guest in the inaugural ceremony and concluding ceremony respectively.
He said that to smooth run the championship, Pakistan Futsal Federation will constitute variously committees in the next few days.
The foreign teams will reach Pakistan from December 8, to take part in the championship. The semifinals will be played on Dec.15 while the final will be held on Dec. 16 at 3 pm. Trophies, Medals and certificates will be delivered to winning up and runner up teams in concluding ceremony.
