ISLAMABAD: Accusing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) federal govt of creating difficulties for masses, opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif yesterday demanded to withdraw recent hike in the gas tariff. He was addressing session of NA here in Islamabad today.

“We coped with sheer adversity under dynamic leadership of Nawaz Sharif and resolved all challenges ranging from menace of terrorism to traumatizing power cuts”, claimed the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president while adding at the same time, “Those who chanted slogans of tabdeeli [change] made myriad tall claims and deluded public”.

Keeping verbal onslaught up, the PML-N president claimed that PTI had come into power through massive rigging instead of the electoral mandate. He said, “Truth pertaining to electoral results should be made public. We [read PML-N] hope that parliamentary commission will compile its report at earliest”.

On diplomatic affairs, Shehbaz inquired why Chinese foreign minister wasn’t given warm reception upon his arrival.

He accused PTI of inflicting damage on landmark China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by hurling reckless statements.

Shehbaz said mini-budget tantamount to inflation bomb. He accused federal govt of creating difficulties for the under-privileged class.
