IGP Sindh for strict security measures for by-elections

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam yesterday directed officers concerned to strengthen security measures for the by-elections to be held in different constituencies across the province. Presiding over a meeting, he asked to ensure technical sweeping and clearance of all polling stations. In this connection, he said the rangers and other law enforcement agencies should also be coordinated. Sindh Police chief asked to contact the notables, local social, political and religious leaders for peaceful conduct of corner meetings and rallies.

Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam directed the officers concerned to brief the personnel and officers deployed for the security of by-elections. He also instructed to enhance operations against criminal elements across the province.

Additional IGP-Karachi, Zonal DIGPs of Karachi and Sukkur range attended the meeting via video-conferencing.
