ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain yesterday expressed his keenness to promote cultural relations with Egypt. Promotion of cultural ties was vital to establish and strengthen contacts between the people of both the countries.
He said talking to Ambassador of Egypt Fadel Ahmed Yakoub, who called on him here. Fawad emphasized the need for collaboration in the areas of co-production in films and dramas as those were the greatest mediums to project cultural moors and values of any country.
He also proposed the idea of visits of film producers and artists, which would enable them to learn from each other’s technical expertise.
The minister said the two countries enjoyed close fraternal relations, deeply rooted in shared history, culture and heritage and Pakistan would like to further build them in areas mutually beneficial for their people.
The ambassador said Pakistan and Egypt shared historical relationship and expressed the hope that during the tenure of present government, brotherly bonds between the two countries would further grow.
He congratulated the minister on his assumption of charge as minister for information and broadcasting and wished him good luck. He also wished success to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government regarding its reform agenda. Ambassador Fadel Ahmed Yakoub extended an invitation to the minister for visit of Egypt, which he accepted.
