LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar yesterday approved increase in the number of Arazi Centers, facilitation centers for land owners, under the Land Record Management System in the province.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held at chief minister’s office. According to the approval, the CM said that scope of the centers would be extended to the level of kanogoi (towns) in phases. In the first phase, he said, 102 new Arazi Centers would be set up at the level of kanogoi.
The meeting also decided that 20 mobile vans would be procured for their use as mobile Arazi Centres. These vans will be sent to far-flung and remote areas according to the needs and requirements of the people.
CM Buzdar said that instructions had been issued to identify land for establishment of new Arazi Centers and work would be done speedily to set up the centers soon. He said that the program would facilitate the general public.
The chief minister ordered for constituting a technical committee to deal with price identification and procurement of mobile vans. He said that the departments concerned should leave no stone unturned for establishment of new centers. The meeting was also attended by Provincial ministers Malik Muhammad Anwar, Hashim Jawan Bakht, chairman P&D, ACS, secretary finance, commissioner Lahore division and others.
