Haripur steals the show in Full Contact Karate Championship

PESHAWAR: District Haripur clinched the overall Champion trophy after securing first positions in three different weight categories in the KP Full Contact Karate Championship concluded here at Sports Arena yesterday.

Area Manager King Beverages Industries Pakistan Tauseef Khan was the chief guest on this occasion who witnessed the fights of various weights categories. Chairman KP Full Contact Karate (Shin Koi Kai) Association Sahibzada Al-Hadi, the Grand Master, 120 players from 25 districts across KP, officials and large number of spectators were also present.

Farid Ahmad of Haripur in the Heavy weight category won the gold medal, Irshad and Zia-ul-Haq in the middle weight and light weight, Kamran Khan of Mardan in the feather weight and Zubair Ahmad, a nine-year-old in the special feather weight category won gold medal.

Taking three gold medals out of the five weights categories, Haripur was declared the overall winner and was awarded the Champion trophy for the year-2018.

In the 40kg special feather weight category Zubair Ahmad won gold medal, followed by Sarfaraz of Nowshea and Kamran of Peshawar. In the 70kg weight Farid of Haripur won gold medal, followed by Aziz Ul Haq of Charsadda and Ibrar, also from Charsadda.

In the -70kg weight Arshad won gold medal for Haripur, followed by Hameed Khan and Hilal Khan, in the 60kg weight category Zia Ul Haq won gold medal for Haripur, followed by Ammad Ahmad of Mardan and Abdur Rehman from Peshawar.

In the 50kg weight Karam won gold medal for Mardan, followed by Aziz Ullah of Haripur and Shamsul Arifeen of Peshawar. At the end, the chief guest Tauseef Khan, Area Manager of King Beverages Industries Pakistan, gave away trophies and cash prizes to the position holers.
