Terrorists involved in attack on Chinese Consulate in Karachi identified: sources

KARACHI: Three gunmen armed with hand grenades and suicide vests stormed the Chinese consulate in Karachi yesterday and exchanged gunfire with security forces who shot them down. According to sources, those who carried out the attack have been identified. The first attacker has been identified as Razzaq, a resident of Kharan, claimed sources.

The second attacker has been identified as Azal Khan Mari alias Sangat Dada, alleged sources, adding that the third attacker has been identified as Raees Baloch.  The post-mortem of the three terrorists has been completed, said Dr Seemin Jamali of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Dr Jamali said that one terrorist was wearing a commando uniform while the other was in sports trouser and shirt. She added that the third one was wearing a track suit. Dr Jamali informed that a security guard wounded in the attack has been shifted to a ward.  The terrorists tried to enter the consulate around 9:30am, but were intercepted by security guards at a checkpoint, police said.
