QUETTA: Corruption is economic terrorism. The present government gives priority to end corruption and all corrupt elements would be brought to justice. These views were expressed by Justice (retd) Amanullah Yasinzai, Governor Balochistan, while addressing a function held in connection with celebrating Anti-Corruption Day at a local hotel yesterday.
The function was attended by a large number of students of different Universities, colleges and schools. Governor Balochistan said that efforts were being made to root out corruption and to utilize national resources in a right way.
While praising the performance of NAB, he said that corruption has penetrated in our society to such an extent that we forgot to distinguish good from the bad. In order to get rid of this cancer, we will have to wage a war against it.
Addressing the function, Director NAB Balochistan Muhammad Abid Javaid said that it is corruption that gives birth to poverty, unjust economy and uncertainty. He said that the nations that understood the harms of corruption use all the resources to root out thist menace from their societies. He said that International Corruption Day is celebrated globally each year under the aegis of the UN to remove corruption in the light of UN Convention.
