QUETTA: Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) senior member and former provincial minister Prince Ahmed Ali yesterday said a fully operational Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority will boost industrialization process in the province and would open new avenues of investment for industrialist community in Balochistan. He expressed these views while meeting Managing Director LIEDA (Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority) Aslam Tareen at Hub today.
He said that with the functioning of industrial zones Balochistan would become a hub of industrial and trade activities.
On this occasion MD LIEDA Aslam Tare briefed former provincial minister Prince Ahmed Ali about the current situation of LIEDA industrial estates.
Prince Ahmed Ali said that the absence of infrastructure is the single most important reason that discourages investment in the industrial sector development in Balochistan. The existing road network in Balochistan is in a dire need of maintenance and repair, he added. He further said that the limited road access and lack of road network affect the people of rural areas reducing their access to markets. This is a potent cause of prevailing poverty in the province.
“Fully functional Lasbela Industrial Development Authority promises massive investment, greater generation of employment opportunities and more development projects in different sectors of provincial economy”, he said. The living standard of the local people would improve owing to the development projects in different economic sectors related to LEIDA, he added.
“Provincial government under dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Jam Kamal taking potential steps to curb unemployment from the province and providing profitable avenues for both the skilled and non-skilled workforce in Balochistan”, he said. He said poverty could be reduced through establishment of industries which would provide job opportunities to youth people in respective areas and adding that the national economy would be strengthened through industrial and investment advancement.
