ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood yesterday said that a uniform syllabus will be evolved with consensus after consultation with all the stakeholders in order to provide quality education to all children.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that no compromise will be made on the standard of education in the country and the syllabus will be crafted keeping in view the international standards.
The minister said the aim of introducing a uniform curriculum is to end injustices and make a truly unified nation, adding that our target is to provide quality education to all the children.
Mahmood went on to say that it is also our desire to introduce a single national certification system to do with away with class based education system.
About the first meeting of the curriculum council, the minister said it remained fruitful and overall there was consensus amongst the participants about the uniform syllabus.
The education minister said a panel will shortly be constituted to examine the existing syllabus as well as the international systems.
