Several shops sealed for selling substandard edibles

QUETTA: Assistant Commissioner (AC) Quetta, Sania Safi took action against substandard edibles and sealed several shops including warehouses for selling substandard goods in respective areas of the provincial capital.

According to a press release issued here, Sania Safi and City Magistrate Amir Qaisarani along with team visited various areas of the city including Mini Market, New Adha and others and inspected quality of food in shops.

The teams also taken thousands of substandard bottles into its custody during checking.

Sania said the action would be continued against substandard products in the city to ensure safety of health to common people. She said such substandard edible goods are creating various diseases among people.The action was being taken to ensure standard of edible goods for betterment of public health, she added. She urged business community to cooperate with official team to eradicate selling of substandard goods from the area. Cases have also been registered in police station against sealed shops and warehouse’s owners, she informed.
