ILF demands six months Eid-ul-Fitr remission for all prisoners

KARACHI: Nasir Ahmed Advocate, the Chairman of International Lawyers forum (ILF) has demanded six months remission for all prisoners on Eid-ul-Fitr occasion because of country’s present situation, coronavirus pandemic, poverty, unemployment and lockdown issues and all procedure should be completed before 27th of Ramadan in this regard. ILF appealed to all NGOs and human rights activists to provide maximum relief to prisoners to enjoy their life along with their families, while the Federal government’s Ehsaas Program as well as ration and other relief packages of announced by provinces but due to detention of thousands of prisoners neither they could applied to get such relief nor their families got any ration or cash relief, so, an especial relief package should be given to them accordingly, he added.
