KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani yesterday said that the board examinations for matriculation and intermediate students will not be held this year amid coronavirus outbreak.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Thursday, he said that all the students will get an additional 3 percent marks at the time of promotion to the next grade.
The provincial minister said that the students of class 9 will be promoted to class 10 on the basis of results while the students of class 10 and 11 will be promoted on the basis of previous years results.
Ghani went on to say that the students who had failed in one or two subjects will be promoted to the next class by giving them passing marks.
“Our entire system of holding examinations and issuing results have been disturbed,” he said, adding that the new system has been introduced in the time of crisis.
On the other hand, the PPP leader said that around seven shops have been sealed in South and several in East over violation of SOPs. The government will take steps to seal the shops if the SOPs are not implemented, he said.
