Taekwondo: First ever online Poomsae Championship begins

KARACHI: At a time when the Covid-19 has made sports events impossible to be held, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) has taken the initiative to organize the first ever online Taekwondo (Olympic Martial Arts) in the country.

Over 400 taekwondo poomsae athletes from all age ranges, eight to 50 years, are featuring in the six-day event. Foreign based Pakistani coaches are also participating their athletes in this first ever Online Championship 2020. Other than overseas Pakistani athletes, players from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, USA, Jordan, Russia, India, Philippine, Kazakhstan, Sudan and Nepal are also featuring in this prestigious event. The online event will also set a new trend for the other sports in the country as well pave the way for innovative ideas to engage in sports during these tough times when people are mostly confined to their homes.
